Tailwind ends its pricing split test: the tiers are gone, à-la-carte products for every visitor

Verified: 2026-09-28, tailwindapp.com/pricing-overview.

Tailwind has stopped serving its Pro, Advanced and Max tiers. On 2026-09-02 we reported that its pricing page was split-testing two structures by cookie: __tw_split_modular_billing_200=control returned the credit-metered Free Forever, Pro, Advanced and Max tiers, and variant returned the “Mix & Match” à-la-carte products. Our sweep on 2026-09-25 still read both arms, and forcing the cookie still reproduced each one. On 2026-09-28 it does not. We requested the page 17 times across its URL forms (/pricing, /pricing-overview, with and without ?ver=150, and with cache-busting parameters) and rendered it in nine fresh headless-browser sessions, three of them with the old cookie forced. All 26 readings returned the à-la-carte page, including those forced to control. None showed Pro, Advanced or Max, and the tier prices $54.99 and $99.99 appear nowhere in the page or in its 30 script bundles.

What remains is the variant arm, with no figure changed. On the default annual tab it reads “MIX & MATCH Pin Scheduling & Creation … $17.99 /mo” with “300 Tailwind credits/mo included”, “Pinterest SEO … $11.99 /mo” and “Pinterest Engagement … $11.99 /mo” with 50 credits each, and the bundle at “A $41.97 /mo value $29.98 /mo … Save $180.00 a year!” On the monthly tab the same cards read $29.99, $14.99 and $14.99, and the bundle “A $59.97/mo value $44.98 /mo”. The footer is unchanged: “All plans are per Pinterest account. Need more credits? Buy 100 for $10 anytime, or turn on auto-refill.” These are the July figures. What changed is which plans exist.

The difference falls on visitors who would have drawn the tiers, between about four and seven in ten of our fresh sessions since September 2. They were offered Pro at $17.99/mo annual for 150 credits, and cards that counted Instagram and Facebook accounts alongside Pinterest. Every visitor is now offered Pin Scheduling & Creation at the same $17.99 for 300 credits, priced per Pinterest account.

The page has also moved to a new front end. Responses now come from a Next.js site served through CloudFront, and the x-tailwind-version build stamp, which on 2026-09-25 only the tiers arm carried, is gone. A new cookie, __tw_split_intro_offer_150, is set on arrival with the values control and variant. We rendered the page with each value forced, on both billing tabs, and the two produce identical pricing text. Whatever that experiment changes is not on the pricing page. We have not tested checkout.

The change landed between 2026-09-25 and 2026-09-28, dated from our own sweeps. The Wayback Machine holds no capture of the page in that window. Tailwind has not announced a result, and a test that has ended can be restarted; if the tiers return, we will log it. For now this answers the question our September 2 entry left open: of the two structures Tailwind tested, the à-la-carte products are the one still on the page.

Prior coverage: Tailwind split-tests tiers against à-la-carte from the same URL (September 2, 2026), Tailwind reverses course nine days later, restoring its à-la-carte products (August 26, 2026), Tailwind scraps its à-la-carte products for credit-metered tiers (August 17, 2026), and Tailwind repositions as Pinterest-first, credit-metered (July 2026).
