Nine social media management tools in our Directory treat X/Twitter as a priced exception, and no two of them price it the same way. We read each vendor’s own pricing page on 2026-08-24 and recorded the X row, its unit, and its value. CoSchedule bills $16 per X profile per month. Metricool bills $10 per month per connected account. Vista Social bills a flat $29 per month. Agorapulse publishes two X add-ons and no price for either. Later and HeyOrca stopped publishing to X instead of paying for it. Every figure below carries the page it came from and the date we read it.
One platform cost, five different bills
An X charge reaches a buyer in five shapes, and four of them sit outside the plan card entirely. Here is each shape with the vendors we verified in it.
- A per-profile or per-connected-account surcharge. CoSchedule’s pricing page states that X/Twitter profiles are not included in base plans and are billed separately, at $16 Per Profile / Month on both Social Calendar and Agency Calendar (coschedule.com/pricing, read 2026-08-24). Metricool’s add-on table prices its Twitter/X Add-on at $10/month per connected account on Starter, Advanced, and Custom (metricool.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24).
- A flat monthly add-on. Vista Social lists X (Twitter) at $29/month (publishing, boosting, automations and analytics), identical on all four plan columns (vistasocial.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24).
- An unpriced add-on you have to ask about. Agorapulse publishes two X add-ons under its add-on block, X Lite (“Essentials for publishing on X (Twitter)”) and X Plus (“Full X (Twitter) management”). Both carry “Contact us” where a price would go (agorapulse.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24).
- Metered by the post or the credit. RecurPost includes X in every plan and meters one thing: “Posting a link on X (Twitter) costs $0.20 per tweet, a fee X charges directly, not RecurPost. Fund your X Wallet with pay-as-you-go credits from $10.80 to cover it” (recurpost.com/plans-and-pricing/, read 2026-08-24). Our own record holds a second metered case, dlvr.it, whose X publishing refills by credits at $10 per 100 (https://followedapp.com/tools/dlvrit/, verified 2026-07-16/17). We could not re-verify dlvr.it on 2026-08-24 because its pricing page renders client-side and served no pricing content to our read, so that row stays UNVERIFIABLE rather than current.
- The network removed. Later’s supported-platform row on its own pricing page lists Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Snapchat, and mentions X nowhere on the page (later.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24). HeyOrca’s own FAQ answer to “What social networks can I publish to with HeyOrca?” lists Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Google Business Profile, and Pinterest, and omits X (heyorca.com, read 2026-08-24).
The unit matters more than the number. CoSchedule’s $16 and Metricool’s $10 both multiply by how many X accounts you connect, so twelve X profiles on CoSchedule Social Calendar come to $192 per month in X line items at the rate we read on 2026-08-24, and twelve connected X accounts on Metricool come to $120 per month in add-on. Vista Social’s $29 does not multiply. That is arithmetic on the verified unit prices, not a quote from any vendor.
A per-account unit fits a buyer running one or two X profiles, because the surcharge stays small and stops there. A per-account unit does not fit an agency adding client X profiles, because every new client adds a full unit to the bill while the plan price holds still. The reverse is also true: Vista Social’s flat $29 is the worse shape for a buyer with a single X profile and the better shape for a buyer with twenty, so which shape costs less depends entirely on the roster. Full pricing for each vendor sits on its own record: CoSchedule’s pricing record, Metricool’s add-on pricing, Vista Social’s add-on stack, and dlvr.it’s credit pricing.
What each tracked tool charges for X right now
Nine vendors, one attribute, alphabetical order. Every row carries the date we read it.
| Tool | X/Twitter treatment | Price and unit | Verified | Full record |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Agorapulse | Two unpriced X add-ons, X Lite and X Plus | “Contact us” on both. No figure published | 2026-08-24, agorapulse.com/pricing/ | Agorapulse’s pricing record |
| CoSchedule | X profiles excluded from base plans and billed separately | $16 per profile per month on Social Calendar and Agency Calendar. Unpriced “Add-On” on Content Calendar and Marketing Suite | 2026-08-24, coschedule.com/pricing | CoSchedule’s pricing record |
| dlvr.it | Metered by credits, per our published record | Credits refill at $10 per 100. Status UNVERIFIABLE on 2026-08-24 | 2026-07-16/17 (our record). Not re-verifiable 2026-08-24 | dlvr.it’s credit pricing |
| HeyOrca | Direct X publishing removed | No X price. X absent from HeyOrca’s own publishable-network answer | 2026-08-24, heyorca.com | HeyOrca’s current X support |
| Later | X not supported | No X price. X absent from Later’s supported-platform row | 2026-08-24, later.com/pricing/ | Later’s platform support |
| Metricool | Paid X add-on on Starter, Advanced, and Custom. Excluded on Free | $10 per month per connected account | 2026-08-24, metricool.com/pricing/ | Metricool’s add-on pricing |
| Publer | X gated to paid plans, not surcharged | No X-specific fee on paid plans. X cannot be connected on Free | 2026-08-24, publer.com/pricing | Publer’s plan tiers |
| RecurPost | X included in every plan, with a metered fee on link posts | No X plan add-on. Link tweets cost $0.20 each per RecurPost’s own page, funded from an X Wallet topped up from $10.80 | 2026-08-24, recurpost.com/plans-and-pricing/ | RecurPost’s pricing record |
| Vista Social | Paid X add-on, flat | $29 per month, covering publishing, boosting, automations and analytics | 2026-08-24, vistasocial.com/pricing/ | Vista Social’s add-on stack |
Source note: every value in this table comes from the named vendor’s own pricing page, read on the date in the Verified column. No listicle, aggregator, or review site was used for any figure. The dlvr.it row is the one exception and it is labelled: that value is our own July reading, republished as our record rather than as a current price, because dlvr.it’s pricing page served no pricing content to our 2026-08-24 read.
Metricool shows what the per-account unit does to a bill. Metricool prices 25 brands at $107/month on Advanced (metricool.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24). Twenty-five connected X accounts on top of that plan add $250 per month at the $10 per connected account rate on the same page, which is more than double the plan. Metricool’s Free tier at $0 states that it manages “all your brands’ social networks (except LinkedIn and Twitter)” with one brand and up to 20 posts per month, so the surcharge does not apply there because the network does not.
A flat add-on fits a buyer whose X count will grow, since the price is fixed at the outset. A flat add-on does not fit a buyer with one X profile, since they pay the same as an agency with thirty. Neither statement picks a tool. For a cross-vendor call on which tool to buy, which tool wins, by use case is where that judgment is made.
Where RecurPost sits on this line, and who publishes this site
Disclosure: followedapp.com is published by the team behind RecurPost, and RecurPost is a covered vendor in this Directory under the same rules as every other vendor. That includes this row, which reads favourably for RecurPost, and it includes the correction underneath it.
RecurPost includes X publishing in every plan and sells no X add-on. Its plan page lists X (Twitter) among the ten networks it publishes to, and its add-on list contains extra social accounts, recurring time slots, RSS feeds, stored posts, AI posts, AI images, team members, and shareable calendars, with no X line among them (recurpost.com/plans-and-pricing/, read 2026-08-24). Against Vista Social’s $29 per month for the same network, that is the favourable reading on this one attribute.
RecurPost does not, however, deliver X at zero marginal cost, and our own record has been loose about that. The vendor’s page states: “Posting a tweet that contains a link costs $0.20 per tweet. That fee is set and charged by X, not by RecurPost. You cover it from an X Wallet inside your RecurPost account, topped up with pay-as-you-go credits starting at $10.80. Credits never expire, and the same balance also covers X analytics report fetches” (recurpost.com/plans-and-pricing/, read 2026-08-24). The honest label for RecurPost’s row is therefore “no X-specific plan add-on, plus a metered charge on link tweets”, not “no X charge”. The $0.20 figure is RecurPost’s statement about what X charges, reported here as a dated vendor statement. X does not publish that figure anywhere we have read, so we do not assert it as X’s published price.
RecurPost’s shape fits a buyer running many X profiles who posts mostly native text and media, because the plan absorbs the profiles and the wallet only draws down on link posts. It does not fit a buyer whose X output is mostly link posts at volume, because the per-tweet meter scales with posting frequency rather than with account count, and a buyer needs to model their own link-post volume against the $10.80 top-up before treating X as free. On other attributes RecurPost concedes ground, and RecurPost’s pricing record names those concessions rather than burying them.
The one price history we can prove: Metricool’s X add-on doubled
Metricool’s X add-on costs twice what it cost in May 2026, and we hold both states of the page. The add-on table on metricool.com/pricing/ read “$10/month per connected account” across Starter, Advanced, and Custom on 2026-08-24. The archived copy of the same page, captured 2026-05-20, read “$5/month per connected account” across the same three columns, with the footnote “**Cost of add-on +$5 per connected account” (web.archive.org snapshot 20260520140515 of metricool.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24). That is a 100% increase on the surcharge, charged per connected account, so it scales with brand count.
A Metricool customer running ten brands with ten connected X accounts went from $50 per month in X add-on to $100 per month at those two published rates, with no change to the plan price they were quoted. The dating of this change, the verbatim before-and-after rows, and the second Metricool restructure that landed alongside it belong to the dated record of Metricool’s X add-on doubling, which is where the change itself is logged.
A per-connected-account add-on is the row to re-read at renewal, because a vendor can double it without touching a plan price. A single-profile buyer sees a $5 per month difference from this change, which is a line-item change and not a budget event.
The vendors that dropped X instead of paying
Two tracked vendors stopped publishing to X rather than carry the cost, and neither refunds anything for it because there was never an X line item to refund.
- HeyOrca removed direct X/Twitter publishing on April 6, 2026. HeyOrca’s own FAQ answer on 2026-08-24 lists the networks it publishes to and omits X (heyorca.com, read 2026-08-24). Our published record adds that connected X profiles became placeholder accounts and that the remaining route is manual: HeyOrca notifies the user, and the user publishes on X. The date, the source, and the cause sit with HeyOrca’s removal of X publishing, April 6, 2026.
- Later removed X/Twitter entirely on August 28, 2025. Later’s pricing page on 2026-08-24 names eight supported platforms and does not mention X anywhere (later.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24), which confirms the current state directly. The August 28, 2025 date is followedapp’s published record on Later’s platform support and on platform changes that forced vendors’ hands, where a dedicated entry is still pending. Later’s own help centre returned HTTP 403 to our read on 2026-08-24, so we could not source that date to Later’s own words in this pass.
HeyOrca and Later both attribute the change to X’s API access terms. Those are vendor statements, and we report them as vendor statements with their dates rather than as facts about what X’s API costs. X publishes no figure we have read, so this page publishes none.
A removal is a workflow cost rather than a line item, and it lands on whoever does the posting. A removal costs a buyer with no X in the mix nothing at all, and it leaves HeyOrca’s client-approval workflow and Later’s Instagram and TikTok tooling untouched.
Plan gating is not a surcharge
Two vendors withhold X on a free plan and charge nothing X-specific once you pay, which is a different shape from a surcharge and should not be read as one.
- Publer excludes X from its Free plan. Publer’s Free card reads “3 social accounts (except ๐)” and states “You cannot connect Twitter / X accounts in the free version”. Its Professional plan lists “Twitter / X integration” as an included feature (publer.com/pricing, read 2026-08-24). Publer’s plan prices were rendered client-side and did not reach our read, so the base rates on Publer’s plan tiers stand as our own dated record rather than as a figure re-verified today.
- Metricool excludes X from its Free tier. The Free card at $0 covers one brand, up to 20 posts per month, and “all your brands’ social networks (except LinkedIn and Twitter)” (metricool.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24). Metricool then charges the $10 per connected account add-on on the paid tiers, so it appears in both the gating shape and the surcharge shape.
Gating means the network arrives with the paid plan at no X-specific charge. Gating fits a buyer already choosing between paid tiers, because it changes nothing for them. Gating does not fit a buyer trying to run X on a free plan, because no amount of tier comparison unlocks it below the paid line.
What to check before you sign, if X is in your mix
Five checks, each one guarding against a specific vendor behaviour recorded on this page.
- Read the add-on rows on the vendor’s pricing page, not the plan card. Every X charge on this page sits outside the sticker price, and CoSchedule, Metricool, Vista Social, and Agorapulse all publish theirs in a separate block.
- Multiply the X unit by the number of X profiles you actually run, then compare those totals rather than the base plans. Twenty-five connected X accounts on Metricool add $250 per month at its published rate, which exceeds the $107 plan they sit on.
- Check which unit the vendor uses, because per profile, per connected account, per credit, and flat behave differently as you add clients. CoSchedule and Metricool multiply. Vista Social does not.
- Confirm X is still supported at all before you sign, since HeyOrca and Later both stopped publishing to it and neither states a price for it now.
- Re-read the X row at renewal. Metricool doubled its X add-on between two page states we hold, 2026-05-20 and 2026-08-24, without moving a plan price.
Run those five against your own roster. An agency with 20 profiles of which 6 are X gets a different answer from each vendor on this page, and the answer is arithmetic rather than a recommendation. For category-wide cost across scheduling tools, what scheduling tools cost right now holds that reading.
Where this record is still open
followedapp has not verified everything on this attribute, and the gaps are listed rather than filled.
- CoSchedule’s X rate moved and our profile has not caught up. coschedule.com/pricing published $16 Per Profile / Month on 2026-08-24. Our own CoSchedule pricing record still carries $8 per profile per month from a 2026-07-16/17 reading, along with a $25 per profile per month figure for the Content and Marketing Suite bundle that the page now shows only as an unpriced “Add-On”. The current value is published above. The dating of the move belongs in the pricing-change record, where no entry exists yet, and the profile needs correcting in the same pass.
- Agorapulse’s X Lite and X Plus rows are confirmed, and new to our record. Both appear on agorapulse.com/pricing/ as add-ons with “Contact us” in place of a price (read 2026-08-24). Agorapulse’s pricing record, verified 2026-08-24, carries no X rows at all. The profile needs them added so the two pages agree. Because Agorapulse publishes no figure, no figure appears in the table above.
- dlvr.it’s credit metering could not be re-verified. dlvrit.com/pricing returned HTTP 200 on 2026-08-24 but served no pricing content, because the page builds its plans client-side. dlvr.it/pricing returned 404. The $10 per 100 credits value stays labelled UNVERIFIABLE and is not asserted as current.
- Publer’s base plan prices could not be re-verified. publer.com/pricing returned HTTP 200 on 2026-08-24 with its price fields rendered client-side and empty in the served markup. The X gating text was readable and is published above. The prices are not re-verified.
- Later’s own dated record of the removal was unreachable. help.later.com returned HTTP 403 to our read on 2026-08-24. The August 28, 2025 date remains followedapp’s published record, and a dedicated entry under platform changes that forced vendors’ hands is still pending.
- HeyOrca’s live pages disagree with each other on X. HeyOrca’s FAQ omits X from the networks it publishes to, while its pricing feature matrix still lists X (Twitter) under both scheduling and reporting (heyorca.com and heyorca.com/pricing, read 2026-08-24). The placeholder-account behaviour our record describes was not confirmable from heyorca.com or help.heyorca.com in this pass. Treat the removal as recorded on the April 6, 2026 entry and the matrix row as unresolved.
- Every vendor missing from the table is a vendor whose X row we have not read for this dataset. The Directory holds 36 profiles. Nine appear here. The absence of a vendor from this table means no reading, and it does not mean the vendor charges nothing.
Why this cost does not show on a plan card
Vendors hold headline plan prices steady and move cost into rows a buyer has to open a second block to find. Metricool’s plan prices did not change when its X add-on doubled. CoSchedule’s Social Calendar still shows $29 per user per month while X profiles bill separately on top. A buyer comparing sticker prices across four vendors would see none of the figures on this page.
Where the numbers go next
Metricool charges $10 per connected account per month to publish to X, CoSchedule charges $16 per profile per month, and neither number appears on a plan card. The rest of the compiled datasets built the same way sit on the Research Desk, and the current state of the social media tools market is where the wider picture is kept.
Questions buyers ask about X pricing
Which social media tools charge extra for X/Twitter?
CoSchedule charges $16 per X profile per month, Metricool charges $10 per month per connected account, Vista Social charges a flat $29 per month, and Agorapulse publishes two X add-ons with no price on either, all read on 2026-08-24. The table above carries each row with its source and unit.
How much does Metricool charge for X?
Metricool charges $10 per month per connected account for its Twitter/X add-on, on Starter, Advanced, and Custom (metricool.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24). The same row read $5 per month per connected account on the archived copy of the page from 2026-05-20.
Does CoSchedule include X in its base plan?
CoSchedule excludes X profiles from its base plans. Its pricing page states that Twitter/X profiles are not included in base plans and are billed separately, at $16 Per Profile / Month on Social Calendar and Agency Calendar, and as an unpriced “Add-On” on Content Calendar and Marketing Suite (coschedule.com/pricing, read 2026-08-24).
Can I still post to X from HeyOrca?
You cannot publish directly to X from HeyOrca. HeyOrca removed direct X publishing on April 6, 2026, and its own list of publishable networks omits X (heyorca.com, read 2026-08-24). Our record describes connected X profiles as placeholder accounts requiring manual publishing, and the dated entry for the removal is here.
Does Later support X/Twitter?
Later does not support X. Later’s pricing page lists Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Snapchat as its supported platforms and does not mention X (later.com/pricing/, read 2026-08-24). followedapp’s record dates the removal to August 28, 2025.
Which tools charge no X-specific fee?
RecurPost sells no X add-on and includes X in every plan, though its own page states that link tweets cost $0.20 each, funded from an X Wallet topped up from $10.80 (recurpost.com/plans-and-pricing/, read 2026-08-24). Publer charges no X-specific fee on its paid plans and blocks X on Free (publer.com/pricing, read 2026-08-24). Disclosure: followedapp.com is published by the team behind RecurPost, and RecurPost is covered here on the same terms as every other vendor.
Why doesn’t the X cost show on a vendor’s plan card?
Vendors put the X charge in an add-on block rather than on the plan card. Metricool, Vista Social, and Agorapulse all publish theirs in a separate add-on table, and CoSchedule publishes its X rate inside a feature-comparison row rather than on the plan tile.
Is X excluded from free plans?
Publer’s Free plan states that X accounts cannot be connected, and Metricool’s Free tier at $0 covers every network except LinkedIn and Twitter, both read 2026-08-24. Neither exclusion is a surcharge. Each is plan gating, and X arrives with the paid tier at no X-specific charge.
